Signed for an incredible €30m to the Russian side in 2008, the Venezuelan-born Portuguese midfielder is the top star from Zenit Saint Petersburg, so surely he would be relied upon to put away FC Bunyodkor in today’s Dubai Matchworld Cup, right?
Thankfully for Zenit, the side were already 2-0 up at the time of Danny’s glorious chance and held their nerve for a 2-1 victory. We can only imagine the beating Zenit manager Luciano Spalletti would have given his star player had his side conceded again much later in the game.
