It was like a zombie apocalypse in reverse on Dublin’s Camden Street last night.
This is what the prospect of a summer in France will do a pack of jubilant Ireland fans, and we pity the poor van driver who turned right on to Camden Street and figured, “ah, it’ll be grand.”
These, dear friends, are scenes from a typical Saturday night outside the Palace Nightclub multiplied by 50.
Thanks to Padhraic Doyle, who tells us: “So this poor f*cker right here decided to turn down Camden Street last night.
“When surrounded by drunken supporters the white van man soon realised his mistake… And when they started the climb to the roof, he knew sh*t was about to get real.
“I’d say he was stuck in the crowd for a good 40 mins and them bouncing and chanting while he sat in it with a passenger. Not even the boys in blue could get him out. Chaotic scenes!”
