JOE’s Fergus Ryan was in Stockholm for UFC Sweden last weekend – and he took the chance to ask some Irish-interest questions of UFC boss Dana White in the post-fight press conference.
Specifically White was asked if there was an obstacle to bringing UFC back to Dublin, almost three and a half years after the UFC 93 event at The O2 Dublin.
That card in January 2009 broke new ground for MMA in Ireland, and Fergus was keen to find out if White was encountering any problems bringing the show back to this part of the world for a second time.
So what’s the problem? Well, there is no problem, not really. It’s just that everyone wants a piece of the UFC, and White is trying his best to keep all the punters happy.
No firm answers, then, just a commitment to return to Ireland at some point in the (hopefully) not too distant future.
