Doing Leitrim proud.
Thank GAA it’s Friday returns to our screens for a new series this evening, just as the Championships in both codes are really beginning to take flight.
As usual, it’s not just the stars of football and hurling that will feature on the show, as well-known faces from other fields discuss their GAA background.
In the first episode of the show this week, David Rawle, otherwise known as Martin Moone from Moone Boy, chats about his under-age football career with Carrigallen GAA club in Leitrim.
Of course, David is not the only Moone Boy star to have a background in the GAA as the one and only Chris O’Dowd is a former Roscommon minor goalkeeper.
Chris discussed his inter-county past in a brilliant segment on The Sunday Game not so long ago, in which he coined the best and most appropriate phrase that has ever been used to describe one of his GAA heroes, Roscommon legend Shane Curran.
Thank GAA it’s Friday airs on RTE 2 tonight at 8.30pm
