If you thought Paddy Jackson lip-syncing the JCB song was good, get a load of Niall O’Connor playing guitar and singing along to a classic Ronan Keating track.
They’ve been playing mighty stuff so far this season but it seems as if the talent in the Ulster squad extends far beyond what they can do on the pitch; Paddy Jackson’s JCB lip-syncing and Jared Payne’s somewhat ill-advised Gangnam Style celebration are just two examples of what the Ulster lads could offer to the entertainment industry once they’ve hung up their boots.
Both Jackson’s and Payne’s efforts pale into comparison to the musical talents of out-half Niall O’Connor, who has seen Jackson’s JCB song and raised him a not-too-shabby version of Ronan Keating’s ‘When you say nothing at all’ on the guitar.
The choice of song might be a bit corny, but O’Connor’s string-plucking and his singing deserve plenty of kudos and he has definitely laid down the gauntlet to Jackson with this effort.
We eagerly await Jackson’s response and given his likeness to the famous Father Ted character, we can only hope that it goes a little something like this…
