Kids, take note…
Getting the ball past all the opposition, be they numbered 15 or seven, is the hard part in rugby. Touching it down for the try is supposed to be, and usually is, the easy bit.
However, at the Limerick Rugby 7s at the weekend not one, but two incidents of shoddy finishing were on display.
The first comes to us via an unnamed Waratahs player, who gets past the defence only to fumble the ball as he tries to ground it. In fairness, it was lashing at the time so we’ll give him the old ‘bar of soap’ excuse. Thanks to Paul Collins for the clip.
However, this second one, committed by ultimate winners Daveta of Fiji shows that you should never ease up too much near the try line, especially when their is a Munster man in pursuit. Thanks to Andrew Dawson for this one.
