As well as being incredibly fit, to be a professional cyclist you have to be very focussed at all times. If not, as Yoann Offredo found out to his cost today, this kind of sh*t happens.
Offredo was taking part in the Paris-Roubaix race today and was at the tail of a large group when he cast a glance behind him for just a couple of seconds. As he was about to find out, it was a bad mistake.
Moments later, Offredo found himself careering into a traffic island and a road sign at high speed and was sent flying into the air before landing painfully on his front and suffering cuts to his legs and chin.
Offredo looked a bit shook and was clearly in pain from the cut to his chin in particular, but crashes like this come with the territory for cyclists, they’re pretty hardy as a result and we’re sure Offredo will be back on his feet and back on a bike in no time.
Having watched the video, however, we couldn’t help but be reminded of this…
Hat-tip to the lads at 101 Great Goals for this one
