We’re nearly in tears watching him.
Today has been an incredibly sad one for Irish sport after it was confirmed that Paul O’Connell won’t represent his country again following the severe hamstring injury he suffered against France on Sunday.
O’Connell will deservedly go down as one of the greatest players to ever play for Ireland and he received plenty of heartfelt and fitting tributes (from BOD, ROG and all over the rugby world) after the sad news broke earlier on.
The Irish captain today returned to Ireland for further treatment on the injury and he looked pretty emotional as he departed the team hotel.

An amazing player, an incredible leader and a giant of a man, he’ll be sorely missed in a green jersey over the next few years.
