After playing his final home game for Shamrock Rovers, and scoring twice, Gary Twigg received a rapturous farewell in Tallaght last night.
After three-and-a-half years, and countless goals and trophies, Gary Twigg said farewell to Tallaght Stadium last night.
As you would expect, the Scot scored both goals as Rovers beat UCD 2-1, meaning he hit 20 for the season and will take home the top scorer’s title for the third time.
He was a huge part of Rovers’ recent success and the fans at Tallaght Stadium last night let him know how grateful they were as they sang him off the pitch. A clearly emotional Twigg then gave some fans mementos of his final game. He’s a big loss not just to Rovers, but to the Airtricity League.
Cheers to YouTuber qwertyuioprovers for the video.
