Shamrock Rovers have had a week to forget in many ways. Not only did they exit the Champions League mid-week but they also had two players go toe-to-toe on the field last night.

Moments before the half-time whistle at Dalymount Park last night in the 1-0 win over Bohs, there was mix-up in the Rovers defence.

It all kicked off when Rovers captain Dan Murray began to shield a ball back into the path for ‘keeper Ryan Thompson to come and collect but his arrival was late and Murray had no choice but to clear the ball at the last second.

Clearly unhappy with his skipper, Thompson flew off the handle and threw his head in Murray’s direction. There was no contact but, if he did connect he would have walked for violent misconduct. Lucky boy.
