Video: Shane Long’s goal had the stadium absolutely rocking last night from this fan footage

This could prove to be a massive goal

This could prove to be a massive goal.

The Republic of Ireland left it late against Poland, as they seem to do with regularity in this campaign, but Shane Long’s 90th minute strike could prove to be crucial on the road to Euro 2016.

A point is the very least that Martin O’Neill’s men deserved after a performance that ranks as one of their very best during his tenure in front of a packed home crowd.

While it’s still only one point and not the three, if Ireland continue this form into their next qualifier against Scotland then we should have a good chance of picking up that much needed win.

The introduction of the Southampton striker, along with James McClean, proved to be crucial and the sense of relief and euphoria that filled the stadium was there for all to see.

While this angle isn’t exactly perfect, you get a sense of what the atmosphere inside the stadium felt like after the goal went in.

Take a look.
