The Irish squad have been recovering from their exploits in Cardiff on Saturday, but what kind of training are they doing with another titanic battle ahead on Sunday against England?
By Declan Whooley
We know that the Irish squad spends a lot of time at their base camp in Carton House, but what training they actually do is not so clear. What drills do they do after such physical exertions? How long do the kickers spend practicing on the pitch? What is the schedule for the week?
Former Ireland and Munster flanker Alan Quinlan visited the team in camp and caught up with Strength and Conditioning coach Jason Bowman, backs coach Les Kiss and kicking coach Mark Tainton about the plans for the week.
Quinlan was also questioning the Tainton’s ability as a coach considering Simon Zebo’s efforts to hit his former team-mate with the ball all fell short!
The IRFU video is a great insight to the inner workings of the camp and shows how every detail is accounted for. Just as well with England rolling into town on Sunday.
