Despite Markovic’s harsh red card the 5 times European Cup winners rallied in the final stages and Anfield erupted when Steven Gerrard curled in a wonderful free-kick with 10 minutes to go.
JOE was thinking that the Liverpool captains goal might just inspire an Olympiakos type comeback but it wasn’t to be. Where’s Neil Mellor and Florent Sinama-Pongolle when you need them?
