The adidas tagline “Impossible is nothing” comes to mind…

We aren’t very easily moved here in JOE but every now and then a story comes along that knocks the wind out of our sails and we sit and take notice.

This is definitely one of those times…

In a schools game between Ysgol Brynhyfryd and Ysgol Y Berwyn in Wales, Brynhyfryd won the game in the last phase thanks to a last gasp try from a boy called Ethan.

What makes the try even more special is that fact that Ethan has Down Syndrome and his teammates arranged for him to come to the game and score the winning try. Ethan is 15 and always wanted play rugby and thanks to the great effort by his teammates, he was able to live his dream.

The video was originally uploaded by Huw Tomos-Griffiths who said: “It was a magical moment for Ethan, his family and all the staff who came to support him and the team.

“A special mention must go to Ethan’s teammates last night who looked after him, encouraged him and even made efforts to help him with his maths by asking him to assist with the numbers on the back of the shirts before the game.”

This is a really great story and has thoroughly renewed our faith in the goodness of some people.

Remember, “Different is Strong”. Skip to the 0:30 mark to see the try in question…
