Being the consummate professional that he is, the Galway man will have been disappointed to have lost his final Interpro derby at home to Ulster yesterday evening, the second last home game he will take charge of at the Sportsground.
TG4 screened a short tribute to the man who in 23 years has done more than most to change the rugby landscape in the West, with contributions from Gavin Duffy, Johnny O’Connor and Tiernan O’Halloran, players who have been reaped the benefits of his excellent work.
A great servant to both Connacht rugby and Irish rugby, we hope he can sign off in style with a win in the final game of the season at home to the Glasgow Warriors.
