Wladimir Klitschko retained his heavyweight titles with a unanimous points victory over Mariusz Wach in Hamburg last night but not before the challenger left him reeling with a big blow in the fifth round.

Klitschko retained his IBF, IBO, WBO and WBA world super heavyweight titles in what was a comfortable victory over the Polish challenger – who went into the bout unbeaten – with the judges scoring the fight 120-107, 120-107 and 119-109 in favour of the 36-year old Ukrainian.

While it was an easy decision for the judges to make in the end, Wach had Klitschko reeling against the ropes in the fifth round when he landed a big right hand, but Klitshcko took it well and soon resumed control.

With the victory, which was Klitschko’s first since the death of his former trainer Manny Steward, Klitschko maintained his eight-year unbeaten run, a record that doesn’t look likely to be beaten for some time yet.

Check out the highlights of his victory over Wach in the video above.
