We weren’t expecting much when we stumbled on a video of the England cricket team sending their best wishes to the Lions ahead of the first test against the Wallabies tomorrow, but this is hilarious.
Warren Gatland’s men will take to the field in Suncorp Stadium with the best wishes of sports fans across Britain and Ireland and the England cricket team decided to lend their support to Sam Warburton and the lads via a video message.
As professional sportsmen tend to do in these situations, they took the p*ss just a little bit and while there are funny contributions from the likes of Jimmy Anderson, Jonathan Trott and our own Eoin Morgan, the undoubted star of the show is Graeme Swann, who pulls off posh English, New Zealand and Welsh accents with effortless ease.
It mightn’t be the type of thing that the Lions will be watching immediately before they leave the dressing room, but it will certainly give them a good laugh and help the ease the tension that must be building in the camp ahead of the big one in Brisbane tomorrow.
