Remember the famed ‘Try From The End Of The World’? That’s crap compared to this.
We know this is rugby league and we know they are not pros but you will go a long way to see a more dramatic try than this in a rugby game.
End to end tries are a rare treat in rugby, apart from the odd intercept effort, so classics like France’s ‘Try From The End Of The World’ against New Zealand in 1994 often get lauded as the greatest try ever. Check for yourself below, it’s still pretty damn good.
But we think this effort, from a New Zealand schools rugby league game, is even better. The Wellington Under 18s (in black) prevent a game clinching try by Northland Under 18s (in blue) and then they contrive to score the craziest, most unlikely try we’ve ever seen.
A remarkable and thrilling score. We genuinely cheered when they finally crossed the line.
Hats off to James Dart for tweeting it out.
