Or the Manu Siva Tau to give the dance its correct name.

We know how much sports fans worldwide enjoy the Haka, so the Samoan war dance will be a novel feature for Irish supporters at the Aviva on Saturday.

This war dance emerged for the 1991 World Cup, replacing the existing Ma’ulu’ulu Moa which was considered to be less intimidating and not as effective at psyching the players prior to kick-off.

The above clip was taken for the World Cup warm-up game with Australia and must have done the trick as the islanders went on to record a famous victory.

Current fans of the WWE may also be familiar with the Manu Siva Tau as the Uso Brothers perform the war dance on the way to the ring.

The Uso brothers are the twin sons of Rikishi, a former wrestling stalwart in his own right so they come from good stock and while you could argue about the merits and authenticity of the WWE, there will be no doubting the physical challenge the Samoans will bring to the table in Dublin this weekend.
