Video: The trailer for the Cathal Pendred MTV documentary looks bloody good

‘Pendred’, a documentary about Irish MMA fighter and Cage Warriors Champion Cathal Pendred will soon be broadcast on MTV and if this trailer is anything to go by, it should be well worth a watch.

With Conor McGregor’s recent UFC debut in Sweden proving to be such a roaring success and interest in the sport at an all-time high in this country, MMA is probably the fastest growing sport in Ireland and its profile is rising at an extraordinary rate.

Along with McGregor, Cathal Pendred is arguably Ireland’s most high-profile exponent of MMA and he is on a crest of a wave at the moment having claimed the Cage Warriors welterweight title from Gael Grimaud in London back in March.

Pendred will be defending his title at Cage Warriors 55 in the Helix on June 1 (the event will be streamed live on JOE.ie) and he is also set to be the subject of a documentary by Dem Marquez, a sneak peek of which you can see below.

Featuring contributions from those close to the Pendred camp and a few words from his schools rugby team-mate Cian Healy, as well as footage of Pendred’s fairly punishing looking training regime, it really does look like a must-see for MMA fans.
