Video: These ‘slideliner’ seats in Australia are either the best or worst seats ever for a rugby game

Fancy sitting right on the touchline and moving up and down with the action? Yeah, we’re not sure either.

As marketing wheezes go, this is a doozy by Samsung, even if there has to be some health and safety concerns about it.

The company are offering a chance for four people to get closer than ever before to a Wallabies game as a prize if you buy one of their products Down Under. To do it, they have built the snappily titled ‘Slideliner’ to slide you up and down the sideline during a game, following the action at all times.

The seats can travel at up to 20kph, have built in tablets so you can tweet everyone some very cool pictures and the racing seats have you securely strapped in so you don’t fall out and into the action.

Quite how close to the line the seats are isn’t clear from the promotional video, but we guess you have to be a bit back from the action so you or the players don’t get injured. We also have to assume you can’t have a pint with you, as it would probably fly out of your hand as you follow a clearing kick from the 22.

Will we ever see this at Aviva, or even Croker? If we do, we’d love to give it a try, just to see if it is a bit crap or the best seat ever at a sporting event.
