Video: We wouldn’t have liked to have been Serena Williams’ racquet today

Serena Williams didn’t take too well to her Australian Open exit today and her poor racquet bore the brunt of her frustration.

Injuries dogged Williams’ attempt to win what would have been her sixth Australian Open in Melbourne and she eventually exited the tournament at the hands of Sloane Stephens at the quarter-final stage earlier today.

It’s been a frustrating week for the 15-time Grand Slam title winner and her frustration was never more evident than when she mishit a return of serve early in the third set.

Anyone who has watched Serena knows she has quite a lot of power in those arms and the racquet was pretty much destroyed after being whacked against the ground a couple of times and she added insult to injury by flinging it against her bench immediately afterwards.

It wasn’t exactly as bad as McEnroe at his worst, but it was still fiery enough all the same.

Damn Serena, you scary!
