As is rapidly becoming the norm, the knockout of the weekend once again comes from Bellator, this time courtesy of David Rickels super-fast destruction of Jordan Smith.
Another big card at Bellator 63 produced yet again the knockout of the weekend and it came in caveman fashion from David ‘The Caveman’ Rickels. The 23-year-old American is now 10-0 and with punching power like this we’re not surprised.
At Bellator 63 he was matched with Jordan Smith, a man with 17 wins to his name but he was no match for Rickels’ speed and power. Smith was late stand in and it showed as this bout lasted just 22 seconds.
After a few feeling-out kicks Rickels landed a powerful right and as Smith was stunned he rained punches in on him before the ref called a halt in double-quick time.
“Lemme just soak in his moment real quick,” Rickels said afterward. “That was amazing, man. Bellator, man. So easy a caveman could to it.
“I clipped him, and I saw he was hurt. I always try to finish. Soon as I hit him hard, I knew he was going down. A couple quick uppercuts after that, and it was good night.”
Indeed it was. For you anyway Caveman. Watch his short night’s work above.
