Arsenal won, he kept a clean sheet and to top it all off, he scored in Arsenal’s comprehensive 4-0 defeat of Aston Villa.
The big German is something of a hero amongst Arsenal fans, who refer to him as the B.F.G. AKA the ‘Big Fu**ing German’.
We’re not sure if German football fans were aware of the term before Saturday, but Eurosport viewers were certainly aware of it after he knocked in the Gunners’ third goal.
