Real Madrid cruised to a 3-0 win over Almeria last night as they kept up the pressure on La Liga leaders Barcelona.
Rather surprisingly, Lionel Messi’s best friend Cristiano Ronaldo was not on the scoresheet at the Bernabeu although he surely would have been.
Real Madrid’s marksman was primed to tap in Javier Hernandez’ low cross in the 84th minute but Arbeloa got there first.
Ronaldo may have found the back of the net 50 times this season for the European champions but he still looked pretty annoyed that the former Liverpool full-back made the telling touch.
Some might argue that there’s ‘no Ronaldo in team’ but surely it’s this desire to score all the time that has made him the phenomenal player he is today.
