Trent Dilfer may have won a Super Bowl, but he won’t be winning any awards for this insight.
With only 16, or less, games a week and a truly staggering amount of air time to fill, US sports channels have to do a lot of waffling. That leads to some less than brilliant bits of analysis, like this effort by Trent Dilfer at the weekend.
Dilfer, who quarterbacked the Baltimore Ravens to Super Bowl glory in 2001, gets himself all muddled up here as he tries to explain how important not losing is in the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE.
In fairness to Dilfer, he is usually one of the best talking heads in the business so we’ll put this down to a mini brain fart.
