As you probably know by now, Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan made some very inappropriate remarks during an interview with The Guardian when asked about the controversial appointment of Malky Mackay as Wigan manager.
Whelan’s remarks were quite insensitive to Jewish and Chinese people and the Wigan chairman has since apologised for the remarks and claimed that he had been misquoted.
That hasn’t stopped the Internet from drawing parallels between his gaffe and that of our favourite priest, Fr Ted Crilly, however, with the one below coming from vonstrenginho, the same man whose Roy Hodgson vines have been wildly popular of late.
Who can forget Ted’s ‘unfortunate’ error of judgement with the Yin family looking on? We wonder if Whelan will also have to buy a year’s supply of whiskey as a peace offering.
