They just don’t like each other.
After his victory over Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205, Conor McGregor was more than happy to discuss his future plans and stress that when it comes to negotiations with Dana White and the company, he’s got an incredibly strong hand.
While the dual-weight champion looks set to take a break from competing in the octagon, The Notorious always has business on his mind and he has once again been talking about a potential crossover fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Now, we would be incredibly surprised to see this fight ever taking place, but there are certain people that have been calling for it in the aftermath of McGregor’s history-making win over the weekend in NYC.

TMZSports caught up with Mayweather to get his views on McGregor’s stunning two-round win over Alvarez. It appeared that ‘The Money’ was utterly disinterested in giving an interview, until he heard that McGregor was dubbed the “Mayweather of MMA”. This statement prompted the iconic boxer to say:”I didn’t know Conor McGregor was undefeated. I didn’t know he had a reign in MMA for 20 years and undefeated and was world champion in five different weight classes. That’s something I didn’t know”.
Mayweather adds: “So, I guess you guys are telling me something new if you say he’s the Floyd Mayweather of the MMA. If you say he’s the Floyd Mayweather of the MMA, I’m trying to find out have he ever made $300 million in one night? Have he ever made $100 million in one night? Have he ever made $70 million in one night? So, as far as saying he’s the Floyd Mayweather of MMA, it’s OK to say it but it’s not true.”
The five-division world champion then remarked that “I’m an elephant. An elephant don’t beef with ants.”
The Dubliner has since been asked about Mayweather’s comments, to which he briefly replied “tell him to say it to my face”.
