Such a shame.
Euro 2016 is only a day old and already, the actions of a minority of mindless supporters has tarnished what should be a festival of football.
Most of the unsightly scenes to date have occurred in Marseille, where there was trouble on Thursday and Friday night and where more disturbances have broken out ahead of England’s clash with Russia at the Stade Velodrome on Saturday evening.
Emma Murphy of ITV News is in Marseille and she posted videos of ugly-looking confrontations between rival groups of supporters suggesting that there were some locals, as well as English and Russian fans involved.
