West Ham are charging a crazy amount of money for kids be their match mascot

Hang your head in shame West Ham.

Hang your head in shame West Ham.

We always thought that the kids who walk out with Premier League teams at the start of games got to do that for free. Apparently not.

The Guardian have done a study into how expensive it is for children to attend games, buy jerseys and be a mascot.

The most startling thing in the study is the cost of being a mascot.

11 clubs don’t charge anything while West Ham charge people a whopping £600 if they want their kid to lead out the team.

The full breakdown of top flight clubs is here:

The Hammers might play ‘route one’ football under Big Sam and their commercial team are following suit but at supporters’ wallets.

The full study is available here.
