Giovanni Trapattoni has called on West Brom striker Simon Cox and Motherwell goalkeeper Darren Randolph to fill the boots of Damien Duff and Keiren Westwood for Ireland’s Euro 2012 qualifier with Macedonia.

It’s unlikely that Cox, who has not been a first-team regular in the Premier League this season, will get game time against  Macedonia but there’s a strong possiblity of a run-out in the Nations Cup matches.

The 23-year-old has shown some promise this season, having scored four times in 21 total appearances, including a late equaliser against Spurs last month.

Meanwhile, with Keiren Westwood ruled out for a month due to a shoulder injury, and Shay Given in a race against time to regain fitness, Darren Randolph has been drafted into the squad.

Millwall’s David Forde may start between the posts in one or both of the Nations Cup matches.
