Company says that they have only received nine complaints in a statement issued tonight.
It has been the tech story of the week; the apparent bending issue that the new iPhone 6 has.
Now, after all the fun we’ve had with, Apple have responded, and their view is it is not nearly as big a deal as social media thinks it is.
“We chose these high-quality materials and construction very carefully for their strength and durability,” says the statement, posted on the BBC.
“We also perform rigorous tests throughout the entire development cycle.
“iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus meet or exceed all of our high quality standards to endure everyday, real life use.
“With normal use a bend in iPhone is extremely rare and through our first six days of sale, a total of nine customers have contacted Apple with a bent iPhone 6 Plus. As with any Apple product, if you have questions please contact Apple.”
Considering the tens of millions of iPhone6s sold in the last week, nine is a tiny, tiny percentage of sales.
Will Apple now see a flood of complaints or will this be the end of ‘bendgate’?
