The last two games have been absolutely spectacular, and really made the games industry sit up and notice, so it should come as no surprise that Warner Bros. are desperate to get involved with another Batman: Arkham title as soon as possible.

However, it looks like they might be aiming to release two titles this year, from two different studios. Rocksteady did a great job on the last two, but according to games site gamesblog.fr, they’ll be in charge of a game which will focus on the origins of Batman, set in the 1950s/60s and feature various members of the Justice League. That game will be shown at E3 and released on the next-gen consoles before the year is out.

Warner Bros. own studios in Montreal however are also rumoured to be working on an Arkham title that would be separate to that, and possibly carry on the story from the last title, which was critically acclaimed.

All of this is rumour at this stage, but it would seem that they could be heading down a Call of Duty type of road, with different studios producing a new title every year. Given we were huge fans of the last games, we’ll wait to reserve judgement until we have something definitive.
