Yesterday, Twitter decided to give their users more room to manoeuvre after a successful pilot programme that doubled the original 140 character limit.
Last night, the social media giant announced that it would be extended the 280-character privilege to all users using the English alphabet, and many accounts immediately put their newfound powers to good use.
While we imagine that many will use their new characters for evil rather than good, some accounts absolutely nailed their first 280 Characters tweet.
Celtic, for example, used their first 280-character tweet to re-emphasise their longstanding spell of dominance in Scottish football.

The Twitter account for popular crime drama Law And Order: SVU used their first 280 character tweet the only way they really could…
In the criminal justice system, sexually based offenses are considered especially heinous. In New York City, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Victims Unit. These are their stories. *DUN DUN*
