Do you use WhatsApp? Well, there’s an upgrade on the way that’s pretty huge

Skype and Viber better watch out...

Skype and Viber better watch out…

Everyone else on WhatsApp? Yeah. Everyone else in a WhatsApp group that you’re terrified of somebody finding? Yeah… Okay, we’re all on the same page, brilliant.

WhatsApp is probably the most popular app in the country because it makes sending messages so quick and the emojis are great for the LOLs. However, like all apps, WhatsApp has been looking to upgrade and what they’re planning on doing will make it the only communication app you’ll ever need.

According to Tech Times, the updated version of WhatsApp will offer support for the voice call feature and it will be free of charge (to begin with anyway).

It will be a big move for the app, who were bought out by Facebook this year, and it looks like they’re targeting Viber and Skype to win over that calling service market. The big advantage WhatsApp would have over Skype and Viber is that by comparison, it uses less bandwidth.

The upgrade could happen later this year but nothing has been confirmed. So for now, you can stick to those brilliant WhatsApp groups and emoji banter.
