This could be awkward.
In our experience, most people have about five times more friends on Facebook than they actually do in real life.
Bumping into a stranger on the street is practically a legitimate enough excuse to add them as a friend and if you’re not friends with virtually every single person you shared a classroom with in school or college, then God help you when the reunion comes around.
With that in mind, you shouldn’t really be that offended if somebody deletes you as a friend, but we would confidently predict that loads of people will download an app that allows you to see who’s deleted you on Facebook and will probably be really offended too.
A new app, cleverly titled ‘Who deleted me on Facebook’ notifies users when contacts disappear from their list and is also able to distinguish whether they removed themselves or deleted their account entirely.
The app has nothing to do with Facebook itself, but is available as a browser extension and also for iOS and Android devices.
It’s certainly an interesting development but also one that is bound to cause plenty of heartbreak and any amount of very, very awkward conversations.
It’s not you, it’s me.
