Here’s a look at the just-released first gameplay trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which looks to promise devastation on a global scale.
A week after one of the biggest info leaks in video game hisory, Activision are pulling out all the stops to make sure their promotional campaign for Modern Warfare 3 catches as many eyeballs as possible.
With a stunning trailer that’s received millions of views in just a few short hours, they’re doing just that.
Set for November 8, this is potentially the biggest year for video gaming’s biggest franchise, as the Call of Duty series is up against the graphical powerhouse that is EA’s Battlefield 3.
The competition got even more heated last year when Infinity Ward (developers of the Modern Warfare series of Call of Duty games) were abruptly fired by publishers Activisions for apparently speaking to EA behind their back.
Stripped of its creators and figureheads, we’re wondering if Infinity Ward can live up to Modern Warfare 3’s predecessors, aided by the development help of both Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software?
Honestly, we have no idea but we can’t wait to see how it plays out. Battlefield 3 may have laid down a graphical benchmark with the first glimpses of their incredible Frostbite 2 engine but Modern Warfare 3, while housing the same engine as the 20m+ selling Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2, has a sense of scale and explosion porn that would make Michael Bay blush.
