Facebook are making it easier to unfollow those annoying people on your newsfeed

Say goodbye to those dramatic posts and the baby pictures you don’t care about…

We’re all connected with people on Facebook that we don’t really know. We’re not their friends but we met them in a hostel in Barcelona one weekend and they were a bit of craic so we added them but now their life is all up on our news feed and it’s becoming annoying.

The same goes for that band we liked because we wanted to impress a hipster girl we dated for two weeks but now the news that they’re playing in the local pub for the third time in a week is testing our patience.

Facebook have come up trumps though by making it easier for you to manage your news feed. They’re adding a new news feed settings page that will show users which people and pages they interact with the most and those they’ve recently unfollowed.

The change means you can easily add and delete people and pages from the news feed based on your interests so stuff isn’t forced on you. You can click on the gray arrow at the corner of a story to hide stories as normal but you can also select whether they’d like to see less from that person or unfollow them altogether.

The changes should make Facebook an all round better experience as Mark Zuckerberg tries to turn the website into everyone’s perfect personalised news source.
