For those times when clicking ‘like’ seems totally inappropriate
Those guys that know everything about you in Facebook have decided that you need new things on your page, and one of them should be a ‘sympathise’ button, for those times when you click like underneath the story about someone dying and you feel like a bit of a jerk.
According to Business Insider, the person who writes the status would have the option of choosing their emotion from a dropdown list, and if they choose ‘sad’ or ‘upset’ or something similar, then the ‘Like’ button would change to ‘Synmpathise’ instead.
The idea was put forward at a hackathon for the social networking site, and while it met with some approval there, Facebook engineer named Dan Muriello stated that it wouldn’t be making its way on to the site for now.
