Here’s why Apple is waiting until 2017 to redesign the iPhone

JOE

We may see some big changes to the iPhone next year.

With the iPhone 7 due to come out in a few months, there is no shortage of rumours about what changes will be made.

According to the Wallstreet Journal the phone won’t differ much from the previous model.

The Phone will maintain the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays which was introduced with the iPhone 6 and it is expected that it will be similar in many other areas too.

The main change made to this version will be the removal of the headphone jack, in order to made the phone thinner.

However, the next round of iPhones, presumably the iPhone 8, is expected to be completely different.

The reason Apple is waiting until 2017 for an overhaul is because of a significant birthday.

In 2017 the iPhone will be 10 years old.

According to Silicon Republic, Apple will mark the occasion in a big way, with a completely new version of the iPhone.

We’re interested to see what they have in store, and though we will have to wait a year to see what changes are made, some of the biggest rumours include an OLED screen and the elimination of the home button.
