Instagram is now letting users know if you take screenshots of their photos

Bad news for stalkers, or is it?

While the need to screenshot Instagram photos has been offset by the fact that you can now zoom in on someone’s photos, we all still do it.

Admit it.

Well, there’s bad news and there’s good news.

The image sharing now tells people when you’ve taken a screenshot of their photos, but (and this is the good news) this only happens when someone has sent you a photo directly.

Let’s just say there may have been a few palpitations when this tweet went out…

…but it only applies to a new Instagram feature that allows you to send Snapchat-like disappearing photos or videos to a friend or a group of friends.

To access it, open up your Instagram feed as usual and swipe from the left.

Users on the normal Instagram feed will not be informed if you’re stalking them you screenshot their photos – yet.

You’ll then see a screen that allows you to record live video, or else just add a photo or video to your story.

It’ll look a little something like this…

This video explains it better than we can.
