Everyone’s favourite video game will be back with another instalment this year, it has been confirmed by Activision.

Call of Duty has been the biggest game on the planet for the last few years, with queues for both the Modern Warfare and Black Ops incarnations stretching back out the door and around the streets for most game retailers.
The news should come as little surprise given how much money these games are making as well as the fact that this would make it the ninth year in a row that there ‘s been a Call of Duty game on the market.
Unsurprising also that they’re looking at releasing this game in the fourth quarter of the year, that’s Christmas to you and us. We wonder why that is…?
It’s been promised that this game will “raise the bar even higher”, according to head of Activision Dennis Durkin and it is widely believed that this new title will be Modern Warfare 4. That said, they could still take it down a new route, but it’s unlikely given the sheer popularity of Modern Warfare, and if JOE were to tell the truth, we prefer this version to the Black Ops games…controversial?
There have also been rumours about the title appearing on the next gen consoles, which could be released by early next year. We’ll keep our eyes on the PlayStation announcement in a few days time to see what the word on that is.
