Nintendo have announced that their glasses-free 3DS handheld system will officially launch in Europe on March 25.

The follow-up to the DS will be available in two colours on launch day – Aqua Blue and Cosmo Black (pictured above). At this afternoon’s event, hosted by TV personality Jonathan Ross, Nintendo confirmed that 25 3DS titles will be available from launch day until June. HMV have announced the system is available for pre-order in the UK for £229.99.

Euro pricing details are yet to be confirmed as of this writing (little has been said other than that the ‘price will be defined by retailers), although Amazon France has listed the unit on pre-order for €249.95. At a simultaneously-held US press event, it was announced that the handheld will debut in the US on March 27 for $250.

The 3DS will first reach Japanese shores on February 26, retailing for ¥25,000, which is roughly €230. A European launch day lineup has not yet been announced.
