We’d have guessed Tinder but…
The good folks at IPSOS/MRBI took to some old technology, the phone, to find out just which social apps we spend the most time on. Speaking to 1,000 Irish people aged 15 and over, they have just published their latest findings.

It makes for very interesting reading, especially when it comes to the most popular. The app visited most often every day is Snapchat, with 63 per cent of account holders saying they used it at least once in the last 24 hours. That beats Facebook messenger (52 per cent), Whats App (47 per cent) and Viber (35 per cent).
Just 22 per cent of respondents had a Snapchat account, with Instagram nabbing 18 per cent but those who had them used them frequently. As we said above, Snapchat was used daily by almost two thirds of those who had it. Instagram has over 40 per cent for the same metric, but for Twitter only just over a third of those with an account used the service daily.
Facebook is still the daddy of all social media, with 1.5million Irish people using it every day. Twitter limps in over a million behind, at just under 400,000 users a day. That said, Facebook’s number have just dipped in Ireland, with 61 per cent, down one, saying they had a Facebook account.
