Do you remember Darwin, the IKEA monkey that hit headlines late in 2012? Well now there’s an online game dedicated to the stylish little critter…
While the IKEA monkey story broke well over a year ago – December 2012 to be exact – one Canadian animator named Barnabas Wornoff is hoping to keep Darwin’s name alive with an incredibly addictive online game.
In the game you have to guide the rhesus macaque monkey through an IKEA car park as he attempts to build a bookcase and avoid certain obstacles, including old ladies with walkers and shopping trollies. Don’t worry though, as Darwin has a secret weapon hidden up his stylish sleeve in the form of monkey poo.

That’s right, you can throw monkey poo at your various enemies in the game, but sadly you won’t be able to do it on any mobile devices just yet. Check out the game on your desktop/laptop here.
Here’s what it says on the IKEA Monkey Game website: “Toronto bylaws state the IKEA Monkey is an “exotic animal” and therefore should be put in monkey jail. Maybe it will get to go back with its mother her at the end of January? For now let’s help him build an IKEA shelf for his new temporary home in monkey jail at Story Book Farm Sanctuary. Collect all the parts of the shelf without hitting people or cars. Good luck!”
