Proof, if any was needed, that smartphones are seriously addictive.
Do you own an iPhone? If so, how many times would you roughly estimate that you unlock it every day?

If you said 80, then you’re as addicted to your iPhone as the average iPhone user, according to figures revealed at a security “deep dive” at Apple headquarters last week.
The “deep dive” was attended by analyst Ben Bajarin, who revealed that Apple shared the statistic while exploring the possibility of improving security for iPhone users while enhancing user experience at the same time.
“Apple is attempting something that seems unprecedented at an industry level,” Bajarin wrote on techpinions.com.
“To bring industry leading security but do so by actually enhancing the user experience. Prior to Touch ID for example, many organisations required eight, and sometimes longer, PIN numbers.

“Imagine entering that many numbers every time you pick up your smartphone. To emphasise this point, Apple shared a great statistic: their average users unlocks their phones 80 times a day. Other reports state people look at their phones upwards of 130 times a day but those are less of the average and more the heavier users.”
If, for example, you had access to a phone from 8am in the morning to 11pm at night, unlocking your iPhone 80 times a day would mean you would do so just over five times an hour, or approximately once every ten minutes.
Does that sound about right to you?
