We’ll let you decide if this is good news or bad news…

Whatever you may think of it, Candy Crush is an incredible phenomenon. Makers King have made an absolute fortune from the highly addictive game, with $832million in the bank at the end of June this year, most of it generated thanks to money spent by Candy Crush players, who can purchase in game power ups to help them pass some of the frankly infuriating levels.

By November 2013, the most recent figures we could find, the game had been installed on half a billion devices between Facebook, iOS and Android.

Makers King haven’t rested on their laurels, pumping out many other games in the ‘Saga’ series, including Pet Rescue Saga but this is the first new game to feature the iconic ‘Candy Crush’ in the title, called Candy Crush Soda Saga.

So, what is the big new development?

Well, it seems that aside from replacing some candy with soda bottles (minerals to you and me) or gummy bears as you can see above, it seems the gameplay is largely the same as its big brother.

And just like its elder sibling, it will begin life on Facebook, today according to reports, with the game coming to mobiles and tablets before Christmas.

The game will be free to download, but with the same in-game purchases available if you so desire.
