Twitter’s having a rough day.
Twitter went down this morning for about half an hour, and disappeared once again from our laptop and smartphone screens this afternoon for another 20 minutes.
We live in an age when anyone with access to an internet connection can immediately give their take on immediate events, and Twitter is one of the main vessels for that kind of commentary.
Once Twitter returned, the top thing trending in Ireland was #twitterdown, the most ironic hashtag in the history of ironic hashtaggery.
