Twitter has announced that they are removing their 140 character limit on direct messages and instead the limit will be set to 10,000 characters.
Twitter DM’s were never really a go-to place to swap information but with the increased limit, there’s a strong possibility that they will be used more often.
Photos can still be sent in the forum.
This is the latest in a string of changes from the social media behemoth that include allowing group messages in DMs and also allowing people to send tweets in DMs.
Speaking in an interview Twitter Product Manager Sachin Agarwal said “Tweets often spark conversations and Twitter is seeking to make those conversations in DMs more fun and powerful by lifting the character limit.”
