With Angry Birds Space being launched soon, developers Rovio have taken to, well, space to help promote it.
Angry Birds is quite simply the biggest iPhone game ever, and if you have a smart phone you probably are already familiar with the addictive thrill of trying to kill those pigs. So the world is eagerly awaiting the launch of Angry Birds Space, a completely new version of the game on March 22.
And with the game set in a zero-gravity environment where better to get somebody to play a real life version of the eternal battle between birds and pigs than in a zero-gravity environment. But they are hard to come by on dear old Earth.
So Rovio managed to get in touch with the powers that be at the International Space Station and get them to help out. They somehow said yes and that is how we have a video of a real life NASA astronaut Don Pettit playing Angry Birds, for real, in space.
The video, of course, also reveals lots of new details about the game, including what looks like a new bird and how we will have to use the gravitational pull of planets to nab those pesky pigs.
Watch the fairly remarkable video for yourself above and get ready for a lot of wasted time when the game comes out.
